No stranger to hard work, Candy Fernaux grew up on a cattle farm in Central Nebraska. The oldest of four girls, with one older brother, she knew what it meant to “man up” at a young age. After graduating from The University of Nebraska with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Public Relations, Candy followed her intended path and began a career in Public Relations in the hospitality industry. An unexpected trip to Dallas, Texas opened doors for her to continue her marketing journey into magazine publishing, sales management, and strategic marketing and branding.

After the terrorist attack, which resulted in significant budget cuts and tightened advertising purse strings, Candy began seeking a new career path that was recession proof. She was soon recruited by a payment processor on the West Coast to sell credit card systems to business owners nationwide. This deviation not only took her out of her comfort zone, but also introduced Candy to a new world of opportunity. Business owners were drawn to her open and honest business practice, and her willingness to go the extra mile in an industry dominated by men who over-sold and under-delivered. Candy’s unique approach stood out and her clients began calling her the “credit card diva” – a fast nickname that stuck.

With a “customer first” mentality, and a desire to put her own stamp on the industry, Candy started Card Diva with a simple philosophy—customers deserve a processing partner that provides constant communication with real people who care about their customer’s success, not just their own. With more than fifteen years of experience, Card Diva continues to grow by referral only and serve clients across the nation with this simple approach to business; we keep it simple and make it fun!
